Marked only by Bois d’Arc posts, this grave is alone next to the western fence of the Wilks Cemetery. During the disinterment, this grave was found to be empty. We had thought It possibly the grave of Alvie Wilks, granddaughter of Betty & Milton Wilks, who died at age 6 or 7, the tragic victim of a fire. Her death certificate indicates she was buried in the Wilks Cemetery, and there is no other marker that might be hers. Photo by Wanda Holmes Oliver.

Cora Wilks, daughter of Florence & Milton Wilks, age 2.5 months. Cora’s grave is at the southern end of a line of Wilks graves running slightly northeast. Her grandparents, Thomas and Margaret Wilks, rest in the center of this line. Their son, Milton, and members of his family, lie to the south of Thomas. Son, Newton, and his family members lie to the north of Margaret. Photo by Wanda Holmes Oliver.
